Drug & Crime Free Youth Foundation is a non-profit organization for adolescents, battered women, the homeless, the unemployed and the working poor dealing with drug and/or alcohol abuse. Since 1978, our primary focus and goal has been to help our clients and their families recover from debilitative life styles. We provide food, clothing and counseling to about 18,000 clients and their families annually.
The Youth Foundation was founded with the purpose of creating an environment that allows inner city families to explore their creative talents, expand their critical thinking skills and compete as successful partners in life and in today’s high tech revolution.
The Youth Foundation is in the business of generating alternatives to gang activity, teen violence, procrastination, and street life.
The Youth Foundation’s Food Program annually distributes nearly 50 million pounds of food directly to needy families throughout Los Angeles. 60% of all donated food directly to the needy and 40% of the food we receive is donated to other worthy charities throughout the Los Angeles Area.
The Youth Foundation’s Clothing Program distributed over 80,000 articles of clothing last year to needy children and their families. The Youth Foundation receives donations of clothing and personal care products from private, corporate and personal donors all across the United States.
Mind Power Unlimited Academic Mentoring Program in an effort to further expand its scope of service, the Youth foundation implemented an academic mentoring program. Mind Power is a community based mentoring program designed to prevent substance abuse, teen pregnancy, crime, high school drop out, and gang activity among youths ages 10-25 through an inclusive support system comprised of mentor teams, academic tutors and parents/guardians.
Drug & Crime Free Community Computer Learning Center provides free comprehensive computer training to inner cities families in order to increase their market value in the work force.
