The purpose of our Gang Prevention Education program is to educate at-risk youth about the dangers of negative behaviors, how to prevent and or avoid crime, violence, and gangs.
We can instill at an early age the confidence and the strength to make good choices as well as combat the insidious alluring gang life style by addressing the root causes of gang activity.
Our program targets youth ages 8-12. It is our responsibility as Interventionists and Educators to assist parents, teachers, and caregivers in educating our youth about gangs and the negative consequences involved with gang life.
As “Scorpio” from Watts so profoundly puts it “Most youth will opt to join a losing team, if the other choice is “NO team at all!”
The “Big Dogg” prevention program is designed to provide our youth with a team of support that will enable them to navigate life in their neighborhood.
The “Big Dogg” curriculum uses dog-themed analogies. The scenarios are based on true stories that we have encountered throughout the years.
“Big Dogg” will show them alternatives to the gang lifestyle. It will help them stay safe, remain free, and obtain a healthier, happier, honorable life.
Our program includes 8 life changing lessons.
Lesson 1: Introduction- Be a “Big Dogg”, Lesson 2: Don’t be a Mad-dogg, Lesson 3: “Under-dogg understands, Lesson 4: Be Like the “Watch-dogg”, Lesson 5: Gangs, the others side of the story, Lesson 6. Juvenile Justice Fundamentals, Lesson 7. Bullying, Don’t be a bulldog, Lesson 8. Smarter Choices – Learn from your mistakes.
